New Delhi, Aug 9 (NationPress) Elon Musk's electric vehicle company, Tesla, is poised to unveil its second showroom in India, located in Delhi, on August 11. This follows the recent opening of its Mumbai showroom last month.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Tesla announced, “Arriving in Delhi - stay tuned,” along with a visual highlighting its forthcoming presence in the national capital.
The upcoming Tesla Experience Centre will be situated within the prestigious Worldmark 3 complex in Aerocity, aiming to serve customers in the national capital region, a vital area for India's electric vehicle initiative.
The American automaker inaugurated its inaugural showroom in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai and recently introduced its electric midsize SUV, the Tesla Model Y, starting from approximately Rs 60 lakh. The delivery of the Model Y is anticipated to commence in the third quarter of this year.
The Delhi opening comes shortly after Tesla launched its first showroom at the Maker Maxity mall in Mumbai.
This significant Mumbai launch was graced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who commended Tesla's venture into the state and encouraged the establishment of research and development and manufacturing units there.
The Tesla Model Y is available in two configurations: a standard rear-wheel drive equipped with a 60 kWh battery offering a WLTP-certified range of 500 km, and a long-range rear-wheel drive variant featuring a 75 kWh battery that can achieve up to 622 km on a single charge.
Deliveries will be prioritized for purchasers in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram, with vehicles being transported directly to customers' residences via flat-bed trucks. Tesla has also revamped its website to facilitate vehicle registration in all states and union territories, broadening access beyond its original launch cities.
While Tesla offers its advanced self-driving (FSD) feature as an optional add-on for Rs 6 lakh, this capability will be rolled out in India at a later date.
