Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Umaria, April 18 (NationPress) A resident of Umaria district has successfully launched a thriving garment enterprise, thanks to the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. She stands as a beacon of self-sufficiency in rural Madhya Pradesh.
Her creations have now reached various districts throughout the state, showcasing the increasing influence of this initiative on grassroots entrepreneurship, as highlighted by a statement from the state government on Saturday.
Pooja Singh, who hails from Ghanghari village, acquired a loan of Rs 8 lakh under the Mudra Yojana, which enabled her to set up her clothing manufacturing unit, named “Hira Fabric.”
For years, she dreamed of establishing her own business but faced challenges due to a lack of financial means. The loan has empowered her to transform her vision into a tangible venture.
Currently, her unit produces an extensive array of garments, including school uniforms, shirts, trousers, tracksuits, T-shirts, and lower garments.
Thanks to her commitment to quality and punctual deliveries, her products are sought after in districts like Hoshangabad, Sidhi, Maihar, Satna, Katni, Itarsi, and Budhni. The continuous influx of orders has facilitated rapid growth for her business.
The state government emphasized that Pooja Singh’s journey illustrates how access to institutional credit can alter lives. Her venture has not only bolstered her family's financial status but also fostered local job opportunities.
At this time, her unit provides employment for eight individuals, creating vital livelihood prospects at the community level.
Her husband, Dharmendra Singh, remarked that the scheme was pivotal to their success. He noted that with the right guidance and information, they could launch their business. “The Mudra Yojana has offered a new trajectory for our lives,” he expressed, extending gratitude to PM Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Initiated in 2015, the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana aims to deliver collateral-free loans to small entrepreneurs, especially women and youth, to encourage self-employment. Loans are categorized into three segments — Shishu, Kishore, and Tarun — based on the business scale.
The Madhya Pradesh government stated that such success narratives highlight the scheme’s role in enhancing entrepreneurship in rural and semi-urban areas, while also promoting income generation and economic activity throughout the state.
