UP International Trade Show 2026 wraps with ₹6,500 crore MoUs, 4,400 deals signed
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
The fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026 concluded on Tuesday, 29 September at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, closing a five-day run with 4,400 MoUs valued at approximately ₹6,500 crore (around $680 million) and business enquiries estimated at ₹15,500 crore. The event, held from 25 to 29 September, marked a record edition by nearly every measurable metric, signalling a decisive expansion in Uttar Pradesh's global trade footprint.
Key Business Outcomes
According to official figures from the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), UPITS 2026 recorded 41,500 B2B meetings — a rise of 31.12 per cent from 31,650 meetings at the 2025 edition. Of these, 13,500 meetings were conducted in the dedicated Reverse Buyers-Sellers Meet (RBSM) zone, while approximately 28,000 business interactions took place across the main exhibition floor.
The RBSM segment, which connects domestic sellers directly with foreign buyers, registered the sharpest growth — a 123.1 per cent surge from just 6,050 such meetings last year. Meetings in the main exhibition area rose a more measured 9.38 per cent. The number of MoUs grew 12.82 per cent from 3,900 in 2025, while the estimated value of those agreements more than doubled — climbing from ₹2,680 crore to ₹6,500 crore. Business enquiries expanded 24 per cent year-on-year, up from ₹12,500 crore in 2025.
Visitor Turnout and Participation
The trade show drew a combined 5,98,693 visitors and business buyers over its five-day run. This included 1,74,990 domestic business buyers and 4,23,703 general visitors, reflecting broad-based interest from both the trade community and the public. The scale of footfall underscores UPITS's growing stature as a flagship platform for Uttar Pradesh's MSMEs, exporters, manufacturers, and local enterprises seeking international market access.
Expanded International Presence
The global dimension of UPITS 2026 expanded considerably compared to previous editions. While Russia was the sole partner country at the 2025 event, this year saw six countries participate as official partner nations — Russia, Austria, Japan, Singapore, Belarus, and Vietnam. Foreign delegations expressed interest across Uttar Pradesh's key sectors, including manufacturing, IT, electronics, textiles, and agri-food processing. This broadening of international engagement reflects the state's deliberate push to diversify export relationships beyond traditional markets.
Cultural and Culinary Highlights
Beyond trade, the 'One District, One Cuisine' (ODOC) initiative drew significant visitor interest. The dedicated ODOC Hall showcased regional delicacies, traditional recipes, and local food enterprises from across the state. Celebrity chef Harpal Singh Sokhi conducted master classes featuring culinary demonstrations and interactive sessions, adding a soft-power dimension to the trade event and spotlighting Uttar Pradesh's agri-food potential to visiting buyers.
With six partner countries, a doubling of MoU values, and a 123 per cent jump in foreign buyer meetings, UPITS appears to be consolidating its position as a serious platform for state-level export promotion — and the fifth edition will be watched closely to see whether this momentum translates into verified trade flows.
