New Delhi, Jan 25 (NationPress) Asia's largest civil aviation exhibition, ‘Wings India 2026’, is poised to make a significant impact on the global aviation landscape, according to the government’s statement on Sunday.
Taking place from January 28–31 at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad, the event will be inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu, alongside high-ranking officials from both India and abroad.
Featuring over 150 exhibitors, approximately 7,500 business visitors, 100,000 general attendees, more than 200 international delegates, 500+ B2B and B2G meetings, and aircraft displays that include more than 31 aircraft, this event promises to be a pivotal occasion for not just India, but the entire aviation sector.
The ministry emphasized that “this launch signifies the start of a monumental global aviation assembly aimed at showcasing India's evolution into a key aviation center for connectivity, manufacturing, services, innovation, and sustainability.”
‘Wings India 2026’ will demonstrate how India's aviation ecosystem has transformed into a significant driver of economic growth, regional progress, and global integration.
In the past decade, India's civil aviation industry has experienced remarkable growth.
Passenger traffic has increased dramatically, positioning India among the world's leading aviation markets, while Indian airlines have inducted hundreds of new aircraft, with record aircraft orders establishing India as one of the largest future aircraft markets globally.
“Airport infrastructure has rapidly evolved, featuring new greenfield airports, modernized terminals, and enhanced regional connectivity through key initiatives like UDAN. India is becoming a formidable hub for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), pilot training, aerospace manufacturing, cargo logistics, and advanced air mobility,” stated the ministry.
A significant emphasis on sustainable aviation practices, including Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), eco-friendly airports, and digital air navigation, is shaping the future of air travel.
‘Wings India 2026’ will unite policymakers, global CEOs, investors, innovators, airlines, airports, OEMs, MROs, lessors, technology providers, training institutions, and startups, making it one of the most extensive aviation platforms worldwide.
Top global and domestic participants such as Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, HAL, Dassault, Bell Textron, ATR, Pilatus, De Havilland, RTX, Rolls-Royce, United Aircraft Corporation, CSIR-NAL, along with GMR, Adani, Noida International Airport, Etihad Airways, Thai Airways, Air India, IndiGo, and Akasa Air have already confirmed their attendance.
The ministry noted that global CEOs from leading airlines, airports, and OEMs are expected to participate, underscoring India’s escalating strategic significance in global aviation.
