Mumbai, Feb 4 (NationPress) In an effort to enhance the ‘Make in India’ initiative and foster the development of indigenous AI models, Yotta Data Services has launched 'myShakti', the first-ever sovereign B2C generative AI chatbot in India.
Developed using DeepSeek’s open-source AI framework, myShakti operates on Indian servers, ensuring complete data protection and sovereignty.
This launch is in line with the recent vision articulated by Union Minister of Railways and Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, who indicated that India aims to unveil its own safe and secure indigenous AI model within the next six months at a reasonable price.
'myShakti' stands as a self-sufficient AI chatbot that processes all open-source and partnered data on servers situated within India.
A specialized team at Yotta accomplished the development of myShakti in just four days, utilizing the DeepSeek model on their NM1 data center infrastructure.
This chatbot operates on a sophisticated setup equipped with 16 nodes of H100 GPUs, totaling 128 H100s, rendering it a powerful and efficient AI tool.
Currently, the generative AI chatbot is accessible in beta on a web application, and myShakti is available for free usage.
“With myShakti, we are making significant strides towards achieving self-reliance in AI for India,” stated Darshan Hiranandani, CEO of the Hiranandani Group and Chairman and Co-founder of Yotta Data Services.
He emphasized that the choice to host DeepSeek within Indian soil guarantees that our country maintains full control over its AI infrastructure.
Sunil Gupta, Co-founder, CEO and MD of Yotta Data Services, mentioned that the firm has consistently led the AI domain in India, and with the swift evolution of myShakti, "we are reaffirming our dedication to providing cutting-edge AI that is accessible, secure, and scalable for every Indian."
According to Minister Vaishnaw, the Indian AI model is a timely initiative as it will position the nation as a more dependable technological powerhouse for ethical AI solutions in the near future.
Earlier, the Union Minister announced that the country is setting up an AI Safety Institute, adopting a techno-legal approach to ensure that the safety and ethical deployment of AI models remain a top priority for India.
In the past year and a half, India has been working diligently on a robust AI ecosystem framework to support its foundational AI model.
