Mumbai, July 31 (NationPress) Aamir Khan contends that knowing multiple languages can significantly enhance one’s life.
In a recent conversation with IANS, Mr. Perfectionist elaborated on the numerous advantages of being multilingual.
Aamir expressed, "I believe that in any profession, being proficient in several languages is incredibly advantageous. Therefore, it is beneficial for you to acquire as many languages as possible. Personally, I find language learning to be a challenge, and it often takes me quite a while to master a new language."
He disclosed that he had not spoken Marathi until the age of 44, when he decided to learn his regional language with the assistance of a tutor.
"At 44, I came to the realization that I didn’t know Marathi—despite it being a subject in school, I hadn’t paid much attention to it. I felt embarrassed not to know my own regional language. Consequently, I engaged a Marathi teacher and learned the language from him. Now, I can converse in decent Marathi," he shared.
Recently, a significant debate has erupted in Mumbai regarding the necessity for residents to be proficient in Marathi and to converse in it while in the state.

Aamir explained his reasoning, stating, "For the past 15 years, I have faced the challenge of reaching audiences who lack geographical access to cinemas, or those unable to visit theaters for various reasons. Finally, the ideal circumstances have arrived. With our government introducing UPI and India leading the world in electronic payments, along with the exponential growth in internet access, and YouTube being available on most devices, we can now connect with a vast audience across India and a large part of the globe."
