Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 9 (NationPress) The renowned Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, noted for his role in ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, has shared an emotional message of thanks to the celebrated playback singer Arijit Singh.
On Monday, Aamir's production company posted on Instagram, featuring a photo of him and Arijit engaging in a musical session together. Aamir expressed his appreciation in a heartfelt note, stating, “Thank you, Arijit, for contributing your enchanting voice to our film Ek Din. The four days spent with you, your family, and your team were truly magical.”
Previously, Aamir visited Arijit at his home in Jiaganj, West Bengal, after the singer recently declared his retirement from playback singing. Aamir arrived in Kolkata on Sunday, initially attempting to elude the media at the airport.
After their meeting, both Aamir and Arijit faced allegations of unauthorized entry into the Rani Dhanya Kumari Government College campus in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, during late hours. Reports suggested that the college principal, Ajoy Adhikari, shared CCTV footage on social media, allegedly showing the two stars arriving around 1:05 a.m. with a group of around 20 individuals, engaging in activities such as badminton and filming for over an hour before departing around 2:00 a.m. The principal later claimed he was “forced to delete” the videos and chose not to lodge a police complaint.
Local sources also indicated that the temporary night guard was reportedly pressured to open the gate for them. As of now, neither Aamir nor Arijit has released an official statement, and no legal actions have been confirmed.
Before this incident, Arijit had announced his withdrawal from playback singing in search of a greater purpose. In a touching message, he conveyed gratitude for his journey thus far, stating, “I will no longer be accepting new roles as a playback vocalist. I am stepping back. It has been a wonderful ride.” There are reports that Arijit plans to make his directorial debut with an upcoming film, having previously directed the Bengali film ‘Sa’ in 2018, a lyrical coming-of-age narrative focusing on a young boy’s bond with music.
