Chennai, June 4 (NationPress) Tamil film director Ajay Gnanamuthu, a devoted supporter of RCB for the past 18 years, shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram shortly after the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured their first-ever IPL title by narrowly defeating Punjab Kings by six runs in the final held at the Narendra Modi stadium in Gujarat.

In his Instagram post, Ajay Gnanamuthu, known for directing the highly successful Demonte Colony series, expressed, "Ufff.. June 3rd, 2025 will be one of the most exhilarating nights of my life!! RCB has finally been crowned CHAMPIONS after 18 years!"

As a passionate fan of Rahul Dravid, he began supporting RCB from the inaugural season of IPL, not realizing that he would develop such a profound love for the franchise and support the young Virat Kohli, the Under-19 WC-winning captain, who has since reached incredible heights in the cricketing realm.

Reflecting on his journey with the franchise over the last 18 years, filled with ups and downs, heartbreaks, and humiliations, Ajay stated that his loyalty and love for both the franchise and Kohli only deepened despite the challenges faced.

"I’ve attended two out of the three finals RCB has played before. Once in 2011 against Chennai Super Kings and again in Bangalore against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016, where RCB lost both times after remarkable seasons. I returned home with tears in my eyes and a shattered heart seeing my favorite team lose. As a fan, I could only imagine the heartache Virat Kohli experienced after giving his all to the team. This curse had to end eventually. The jinx had to be broken.. The universe has finally yielded to the pressure and love of the most loyal fan base ever!" he remarked.

He continued, "This franchise and its fans truly deserve that long-awaited trophy for the unwavering love and loyalty we’ve shown despite enduring heartbreak for 18 long years!!
