Filmmaker-producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah and superstar Akshay Kumar have reunited for an ambitious large-scale alien action thriller titled 'Samuk', which has officially gone on floors in Mumbai. The collaboration marks the duo's first joint project in 13 years, reigniting one of Bollywood's most commercially successful producer-actor partnerships.

Adding significant global credibility to the project, Academy Award-nominated creature-effects designer Alec Gillis — known for his work on the Alien and Predator franchises — has designed the film's central alien creature.
