What Led to the Arrest of Alia Bhatt’s Former Secretary?

Mumbai, July 9 (NationPress) The former secretary of Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, Vedika Shetty, has been taken into custody for allegedly defrauding the star of Rs. 77 lakh.

According to a statement from the Mumbai Police, Vedika Shetty was apprehended by the Juhu Police in Mumbai for her involvement in a Rs. 7.7 million fraud case against the actress.

This case was initiated several months prior following a complaint lodged by Alia’s mother, the renowned actress Soni Razdan. Approximately five months post the registration of the case, Shetty was located and arrested in Bengaluru and subsequently presented before the court on Tuesday. The court has placed her in police custody until July 10.

The Juhu Police have charged Vedika Prakash Shetty under Sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following the alleged fraud, she reportedly fled from the authorities.

She is accused of forging Alia’s signature and committing fraud amounting to Rs. 76.9 lakh over a span of two years.

Media sources reveal that Shetty served as Alia's secretary from 2021 to 2024, managing the actress’s financial affairs and scheduling matters.

As of now, Alia has not made any public statements regarding this situation.

In the meantime, Alia is actively involved in the filming of her upcoming movie “Alpha”, where she portrays a spy, alongside co-star Sharvari.

In other updates, Alia recently expressed her excitement over the first look of her husband Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram in the anticipated film “Ramayana.”

Via her Instagram account, Alia shared the teaser, stating, “Some things don’t need words. This feels like the start of something unforgettable. Diwali 2026 — we’re waiting.”

The much-anticipated teaser for Ramayana featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash was unveiled on July 3.

The announcement video begins with a captivating depiction of the holy trinity — Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva — embodying cosmic forces. It transitions through stunning animation to introduce the lead characters from the epic saga: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as the powerful Ravana.

The teaser showcases a striking contrast between Yash’s intense portrayal of Ravana and Ranbir Kapoor’s calm and composed representation of Lord Ram. It also includes glimpses of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva.

The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is slated for a worldwide release, with Part 1 set to debut during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 following in Diwali 2027.
