Mumbai/Kochi, June 13 (NationPress) A woman from Kerala, who had been evading authorities for implicating a beautician in a prohibited narcotics case, was apprehended by airport officials at Mumbai International Airport upon her arrival from the Middle East. The beautician, Sheela Sunny, is related to the woman, Liviya Jose.

Jose is the sister of Sheela Sunny’s son's wife and had a lookout notice issued against her.

Until April of this year, since February 2023, Sunny faced significant distress, including a 72-day incarceration. However, her fortunes changed in April when Kerala Police arrested a man named Narayana Das.

Shortly after Das's detention, Liviya traveled to a Middle Eastern country.

It was Das's information to the Excise Department back in February 2023 that initiated a series of events affecting Sunny's life.

On February 27, 2023, while Sheela Sunny was working at her beauty parlor in Chalakudy, near Thrissur in Kerala, a team of State Excise officials conducted a search and reportedly discovered what they claimed were LSD stamps in her handbag and the storage compartment of her two-wheeler.

Sunny was arrested and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

She spent 72 days in jail, confused and unable to comprehend her false implication.

Only after chemical tests confirmed that the seized items did not contain Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) was she released.

However, by that time, she had already lost her livelihood and her reputation as a beauty professional.

Since her release, Sunny has been resolute in her quest for justice, believing she was wrongfully accused.

With the arrest of Das and further investigations, it became clear that Liviya Jose had persuaded Das to concoct a scheme to ensnare Sunny.

In April, Sunny noted that the day before her arrest, her daughter-in-law and sister (Liviya Jose) had visited her home.

They consumed the food she provided and later took her two-wheeler for a brief period.

It has now emerged that Sunny and her daughter-in-law had a strained relationship, and Liviya, in coordination with Das, orchestrated the plan to frame her.

According to the police, Liviya will be transported to Kochi, and Sunny feels a sense of relief, knowing her innocence will eventually be established.
