Mumbai, May 27 (NationPress) Actor Barun Chanda's psychological thriller 'Re-Routing' is garnering acclaim from various quarters. Among its enthusiastic supporters is Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.

During an exclusive dialogue with IANS, Barun expressed his immense flattery regarding the recognition.

"He didn’t mention anything specific about me, but he complimented the film collectively, which I’m honored to be a part of. I’m incredibly thankful for that," Barun shared with IANS.

When questioned about the possibility of collaborating with the Big B in the future, the actor responded, "He didn’t hint at anything like that. However, we recently crossed paths during a darshan. Later, we were invited for a photo shoot. He acknowledged my Bengali background with warmth, saying, 'Ashun dada, kaun aachen?' It was a delightful moment, and I felt genuinely touched."

Barun also conveyed his preference for short films over commercial features.

"Honestly, I find greater joy in short films than in commercial features. The latter often leans towards being more 'masala'. In contrast, short films typically have a solid narrative with meaningful messages, which I truly value. So, when I receive an offer for a short film, I give it serious consideration. I never outright dismiss it. That kind of mindset, I believe, is a misconception," he stated.

He further elaborated on the impact of OTT platforms on content creation.

According to him, OTT is establishing a systematic pattern where everything is pre-categorized.

"It leads to spoon-feeding the audience. If you favor crime, here’s a crime series. It feels as though everything is pre-packaged. I don't think that's a beneficial approach, as it confines you into a category," he explained.

"Take our film, for instance—it contains horror elements, yet it's not solely a horror film. It’s a psychological thriller. It’s not centered around crime either; no one is murdered. Yet, there are genuinely frightening moments. It defies easy categorization. Is it horror? Crime? A psychological thriller? That's for you to decide. It’s a fusion—and there's nothing wrong with that," Barun concluded.
