Mumbai, May 23 (NationPress) Renowned director Anees Bazmee has chosen to lend his support to Amruta Subhash’s haunting Marathi psychological thriller "Jarann". The makers have recently released a captivating trailer that offers a sneak peek into this gripping narrative.
During the trailer launch, Bazmee expressed, “This topic has deep roots in our society. Personally, I don’t subscribe to the idea of ghosts—but if you told me to visit an abandoned mansion at 2 a.m., I would decline. This is due to my own experiences. Some individuals engage in black magic, and numerous people harbor peculiar, ingrained beliefs. Such superstitions have lingered in our society for ages, and they aren't easily erased. Regardless of how modern or rational you might perceive yourself to be, or how convinced you are that nothing supernatural occurs, fear can still seep in. I felt it myself while filming Last Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3.
Amruta shared, “In times of despair, Anees sir’s films have provided me with great solace. A lot of white magic occurred during this film, and having Anees sir present it is one of those enchanting moments. It took me two days to fully accept that he is presenting our film. It feels like a monumental dream realized. After so many years, if I had to engage in a Marathi project, this was the one. I’m profoundly thankful to have been selected for this role.”
The trailer depicts Amruta as a married woman whose mundane existence is irrevocably altered when unexplainable, eerie events begin to unfold.
Distributed by Anees Bazmee Productions, A & N Cinemas LLP, and A3 Events & Media Services, and co-produced by Manann Dania Films, Jarann has received backing from Amol Bhagat and Nitin Bhalchandra Kulkarni, along with co-production by Manann Dania.
Directed by Rushikesh Gupte, the film also features performances by Anita Date, Kishor Kadam, Jyoti Malashe, Vikram Gaikwad, Rajan Bhise, Avani Joshi, and Seema Deshmukh in key roles.
Jarann is set to premiere in cinemas on June 5.
