Mumbai, July 26 (NationPress) Actor Annu Kapoor, who is set to appear in the upcoming movie ‘Jolly LLB 3’, recounted an amusing incident where he accidentally picked up a cheque intended for fellow actor Anil Kapoor.
A recently resurfaced clip from one of Kapil Sharma’s shows features Annu reminiscing about this mix-up. In the segment, Kapil informs the audience that Annu shares his full name with Anil.

In his reply, Annu reflects, “Anil was born in December 1957. To the best of my knowledge, I am older than Anil, Sunny Deol, and Jackie Shroff. I starred with Anil in the film ‘Mashaal’, where he was the lead. Back then, my role was insignificant. Yash Chopra had me positioned behind Dilip Kumar for only Rs. 4,000. However, due to an error in Yash Chopra's office, Rs. 10,000 was mistakenly allocated to Anil Kapoor.
Continuing his story, Annu said, “When I visited Raj Kamal Studio, the production team handed me the cheque. Seeing Rs. 10,000 felt like a miracle. I thought to myself, ‘Thank you, God, for this unexpected blessing!’ I assumed it was out of pity from Yash Chopra.”
“A few days later, when Boney Kapoor went to retrieve the cheque on behalf of Anil, the accountant informed him that the Rs. 10,000 cheque had already been given to Anil Kapoor. Confused, Boney asked, ‘Which Rs. 10,000 cheque?’ After some discussion, it was confirmed that the cheque had not been received by Anil. Coincidentally, at that moment, my bank account had not been set up. Boney then clarified, ‘This cheque is for my brother, the hero Anil Kapoor.’ I willingly returned the cheque without any fuss,” he concluded.
