Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the plot revolves around Kamal Kishore Khosla, a middle-class Delhi resident, as he and his family strive to regain their land that a builder, Khurana, has taken from them.

The original film was showcased at the 2006 Kara Film Festival and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 54th National Film Awards. It was subsequently remade in Tamil in 2008 and in Kannada in 2010.

“So You are the MARATHON MAN of Indian Cinema!!” remarked an International Director at the #CannesFilmFestival last year when I shared my film count! (sic),” he recounted.

As he reminisced about arriving in Mumbai in 1981 with aspirations, Kher expressed on Instagram, “Today, as I embark on my 550th film #KhoslaKaGhosla2, my heart is filled with GRATITUDE and THANKFULNESS! When I touched down in #Mumbai, the city of dreams, on June 3, 1981, I never imagined I would achieve this LANDMARK of 550 films.”

He asserted that despite his extensive journey, he has merely reached his 'interval' and has much more to contribute.

Sharing his greatest asset throughout these years, he stated, “My Optimism, my Never-Giving-Up attitude, and my ability to Work Hard have been my most significant strengths!”
