Mumbai, June 22 (NationPress) Renowned actor Anupam Kher, currently preparing for the debut of his forthcoming film ‘Metro... In Dino’, has been vocal about the culinary delights of his native region, Kashmir.
In a recent conversation with IANS, he reflected on the moment he introduced actor Vinay Pathak to the exquisite flavors of Kashmiri cuisine during the filming of ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’, as previously reported by IANS.
Recalling the experience, Anupam expressed, “I introduced Vinay to Kashmiri food, and he was amazed, saying, ‘Kashmiri food is like this?’ I confirmed, ‘Yes’. It brought me joy to share this cuisine with him, as he expected something entirely different. I recently learned that Vinay spoke fondly of this memory, similar to how someone once introduced me to Japanese cuisine.”
He elaborated, “The true richness of Kashmiri cuisine lies in its unique absence of tomato, onion, and garlic, yet it stands out as one of the most flavorful cuisines. India boasts diverse culinary traditions, with something new to discover every 500 kilometers, from Gujarati to Marathi thaalis.”
Vinay previously shared with IANS, “I vividly remember Anupam introduced me to Kashmiri food for the first time. Being vegetarian, I assumed it wouldn’t suit me. But he insisted, ‘You’re in for a treat. We will take you to a place’. He took me to a restaurant in Delhi specializing in Kashmiri cuisine, and I was hooked! We often paused our games to savor our meals, and Anupam taught us several new games during our breaks.”
The film, presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in collaboration with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd., is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu.
Mark your calendars, as the film will hit theaters on July 4, 2025.
