Los Angeles, March 11 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Christina Applegate has a deep affection for her on-screen mother, Katey Sagal.

On the March 4 episode of Applegate’s ‘MeSsy’ podcast, which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Sagal made an appearance to share insights about their personal and professional experiences, as reported by ‘People’ magazine.

Reflecting on her 11-season tenure on ‘Married... with Children’, Applegate revealed that Sagal was significant to her in ways she hadn’t fully realized.

“You were a safe space for me,” the 53-year-old actress expressed warmly. “What made you so reassuring is that you had experienced life deeply, with all its scars, and emerged stronger. I needed that so much during that time: a reliable person in my life. You were that constant support for me. I always felt I could come to you with anything, and your comfort would make me feel secure.”

According to ‘People’, Sagal, who was “newly sober” when the sitcom premiered in 1987, admitted that she was “really employing the fake it till you make it” approach.

“It’s fascinating because I was just beginning my own inner journey, fresh into my recovery, yet I was rapidly learning the importance of being honest with myself,” Sagal, 71, shared. “I felt that being forthright about my journey could encourage others, like you, Chrissy, to be transparent about yours. While I provided a safe space for you, you also offered that for me.”

“I was discovering so much about myself that you’d expect me to be a more mature person,” she added.
