Chennai, Jan 27 (NationPress) Director Ashwath Marimuthu, who secured actor Silambarasan to record a track for his forthcoming film ‘Dragon’, has expressed his gratitude towards the actor for accommodating his request.

The director, recognized for sharing humorous promotional clips of his film, recently unveiled a teaser for the breakup song performed by Silambarasan.

The video starts with Ashwath Marimuthu posting on X about Silambarasan’s involvement in the song, while music director Leon James prepares for the recording session.

As Silambarasan walks in, he greets both the director and the music director. He then inquires about the song title. Upon learning that the song is a breakup number titled ‘Yen di vittu pona‘, Simbu is taken aback. Breakup songs have often been a challenging theme for Simbu in the past, leading to mixed outcomes, even if the songs themselves have been major hits.

In shock, Simbu turns to Ashwath and queries, “But you mentioned this was a party number yesterday?”

Ashwath responds cleverly, saying, “It is a party for the entire state if you perform it. That’s why I referred to it as a party song.”

Simbu then addresses Leon James, remarking, “While the world is advancing with discussions on AI and robotics, you guys are still focused on heartbreak and breakup songs.”

Ashwath continues their amusing banter while encouraging Simbu to sing the track.

Ashwath states, “You’ve sung ‘Kadhal Valarthen’ and ‘Loosu Penne’. If you perform this song, I will be thrilled.” Simbu retorts, “Am I the one who has to suffer for your happiness?”

Ashwath then playfully warns Simbu, “I’m the director of your next film. Sing for me.” Simbu replies, “I’ve changed the director.” Ashwath begs Simbu once more, this time invoking his fans. “I’ve already announced on X that you’re singing this, and your fans are eager. Please sing for them.” Simbu begrudgingly agrees, adding, “You’ll have to come to me for shooting your next film, right? I’ll make you pay.”

The promo has entertained fans, who are now eagerly anticipating the song. Following the recording, Ashwath tweeted, “Seeing you in a video will make your fans happy. Thank you STR for being so humble and lovable, a small gesture to kick off your birthday celebration. Guys, ‘En de vittu ponna’ in his voice is bound to be magical, reviving vintage vibes.”
