Bollywood Stars Gather for the Swearing-In Ceremony of Maharashtra's CM Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, December 5 (NationPress) As the Maharashtra Assembly celebrated the induction of Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister, a plethora of Bollywood celebrities graced the oath-taking event. Prominent figures from the film industry such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Rohit Shetty, Vidya Balan, and her co-star from ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, Madhuri Dixit were present at this significant occasion in the heart of the entertainment capital of India.
Both Salman and SRK, who recently had their classic film ‘Karan Arjun’ re-released, showcased their style in formal attire. The two shared a warm embrace at Azad Maidan, the venue for the event, igniting excitement among their fans over their camaraderie.
Ranbir was spotted in a traditional white kurta pyjama paired with a jacket, while Ranveer opted for a sleek all-black Indo-Western ensemble, complete with half-tied hair.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections held on November 20 resulted in the BJP becoming the leading party with 132 seats. The ruling Mahayuti alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) decisively defeated the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition in these elections.
The Mahayuti alliance achieved a remarkable victory in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections, claiming 230 out of 288 seats. In contrast, the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, consisting of INC, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar), secured only 46 seats.
Devendra Fadnavis made his return to the Chief Minister's position after five years, having previously served as Deputy CM. The Mahayuti alliance had initially remained silent on their choice for the Chief Minister as discussions were ongoing among the alliance partners.
The dramatic aftermath of the 2019 elections saw the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance (under Uddhav Thackeray) victorious, but later, Uddhav joined forces with INC and Nationalist Congress Party, leading to his appointment as Chief Minister.
Attendees of the swearing-in ceremony faced the challenge of Mumbai's sweltering heat, with the city experiencing its hottest December day in the last 16 years, reaching a scorching 37.3 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Earlier in the year, Mumbai recorded its coldest temperatures in eight years.
