Breaking News: Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan's Film 'Identity' Set for Telugu and Hindi Release on January 16, Confirms Director Akhil Paul

Chennai, Jan 7 (NationPress) The Telugu and Hindi adaptations of the Malayalam film Identity, featuring Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan in lead roles, are expected to launch around January 16, according to director Akhil Paul.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Akhil Paul, one of the co-directors of Identity, mentioned, “The film has garnered a positive response in Tamil Nadu. While I don't have precise figures at the moment, I have been informed that 14 additional screens were added on the second day, and each subsequent day’s earnings have surpassed the previous one. This indicates that day two's earnings were higher than day one, and day three's earnings exceeded those of day two. Remarkably, today’s collection, the fourth day, has achieved the highest figures.”
Akhil personally supervised the Tamil dubbing of the film, stating, “I took great care to ensure the film was dubbed accurately in Tamil. Additionally, I made certain that both the Malayalam and Tamil versions were released simultaneously. This marks the first occasion a film starring Tovino has been dubbed in Tamil.”
The director expressed his satisfaction with the film's reception among Tamil audiences, adding, “We are on the verge of launching the Telugu and Hindi versions of the film. Discussions regarding the titles for these versions are ongoing. I aim to retain the original title. Although there is some uncertainty surrounding the title, both adaptations are ready. We plan to roll out the Telugu and Hindi versions around January 16.”
Since its release on January 2, the film has achieved a global gross of ₹23.20 crore within four days and is on track to becoming a blockbuster.
Written and directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan, Identity is produced by Raju Malliath and Dr. CJ Roy, and distributed by Gokulam Movies through Dream Big Films.
