Mumbai, April 16 (NationPress) Actress Chum Darang has opened up about her role as Svetlana in the series “Khauf”, revealing that she “had to scream my lungs out, which gave me migraines.”
Reflecting on her character, Chum stated, “I felt an instant connection with her. She’s a fighter and embodies the spirit of sisterhood, and I believe many will relate to her journey.”
The “Khauf” project represents Chum’s entry into the horror genre, and her preparation was far from conventional.
Chum expressed, “Horror is my favorite genre, so I dove deep into it—watching everything available.”
“I had to scream my lungs out, which led to migraines. There were days I filmed despite having a fever, and I even bled during one scene! I truly invested my blood and sweat into this role.”
Working alongside renowned talents such as Rajat Kapoor, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Shilpa Shukla was a dream for Chum, who gained recognition following her appearance on “Bigg Boss 18.”
“I feel fortunate to share the screen with such incredible actors. There’s never a dull moment, and I am a big fan of Rajat Kapoor,” she remarked.
One of the series’ chilling standout moments features Svetlana in a tense scene as she tries to exit her hostel.
“Scenes like that, reliant on CGI and green screens, were entirely new for me,” she mentioned.
“But as an actor, it’s my responsibility to bring those moments to life, and the directors guided us excellently throughout the process.”
Marking Smita Singh’s debut as a creator and showrunner, Khauf is executive-produced by Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil under the Matchbox Shots banner.
Directed by Pankaj Kumar and Surya Balakrishnan, the series features a remarkable cast including Monika Panwar, Abhishek Chauhan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Shilpa Shukla in pivotal roles.
