Chennai, April 20 (NationPress) The highly anticipated action film 'Kara', directed by Vignesh Raja and starring Dhanush in the lead role, has unveiled an intense trailer that reveals Dhanush as a robber determined to acquire a substantial amount of money.

Actress Mamitha Baiju, who portrays the female lead, took to her X timeline to share the trailer link, stating, "#KaraTrailer is out now. #KaraFromApril30. Directed by @vigneshraja89. Produced by @IshariKGanesh. A @gvprakash musical."

The trailer indicates that the film is set against the backdrop of the Gulf War, specifically during the period when Iraq ignited numerous oil wells in Kuwait, a situation that significantly affected the global economy, especially impacting India.

We witness Kara (played by Dhanush) executing a bank heist, only to strike again the following morning at another bank. Suraj Venjaramoodu, who plays the investigating officer, deduces that the robber is driven by an urgent financial need, propelling him into a crime spree.

The trailer also hints at Dhanush’s return as a wayward son, back to his family who believes he's reformed. However, the truth is far from it.

It becomes clear that he requires a large sum of money and sees only robbery as a viable means to achieve that. As Kara plots his next heist, Suraj Venjaramoodu, aware of his intent, sets a trap to apprehend him, alive or dead...

The Censor Board has granted the film a U/A certificate, confirming its release on April 30 this year.

Earlier this year, the film's title was announced on Pongal, accompanied by a poster showcasing Dhanush with an intense expression and the tagline, "Sometimes, staying dangerous is the only way to survive."

The cast includes various notable actors, with Mamitha Baiju as Selli, K S Ravikumar as Kandhasaami, Jayaram as Muthu Selvan, Karunas as Kasi Maayan, and Suraj Venjaramoodu as Bharathan.

Featuring a strong ensemble cast and an exceptional technical team, the film promises to captivate audiences.

Besides Dhanush and Mamitha Baiju, the film will also showcase K S Ravikumar, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, and Prithvi Pandiraj in central roles.

On the technical side, the cinematography is handled by Theni Eswar, with editing by Sreejith Sarang, and music composed by National Award winner G V Prakash.

Importantly, the screenplay is co-written by Alfred Prakash and director Vignesh Raja, the duo behind the critically acclaimed investigative thriller 'Por Thozhil'.
