Divya Dutta Shares Passion for Voice Work in Animation Films
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 14 (NationPress) Actress Divya Dutta graced the Red Lorry Film Festival, where she presented the French animated feature "Little Amélie", a contender for the Oscars.
Divya expressed her enthusiasm for contributing her voice to an animated film in the future, attributing her growing affection for this genre to her weekly bonding time with her niece and nephew.
The talented star of 'Chhaava' emphasized that animated films are not solely meant for children; rather, they resonate deeply with adults due to their relatable narratives.
“My journey into animation began with my niece and nephew during our Sunday rituals, and I found them to be enjoyable. It’s enlightening to see that animated films cater to adults too, thanks to their meaningful stories,” Divya shared.
Reflecting on her nostalgic memories of film festivals, Divya spoke about her earlier experiences of eagerly waiting in long lines with friends, often equipped with lunch boxes, to watch films that were otherwise hard to come by.
“In those days, we would bring lunch boxes and stand in queues to enjoy films at festivals that were not easily accessible. Film festivals serve as a fantastic venue for cinema enthusiasts to explore and immerse themselves in this wonderful experience,” she said.
On the professional front, Divya is set to headline the upcoming web series "Chiraiyaa".
Discussing her role in the series, Divya mentioned that the narrative pushed her to confront some difficult societal truths.
“While embodying my character in Chiraiyaa, I found myself continuously facing uncomfortable realities, especially how we often suppress ourselves to maintain relationships and peace. This story made me reflect on the misconception that marriage represents unquestioned consent and how the idea of sacrifice can romanticize suffering to the point where it becomes invisible,” Divya expressed.
Mark your calendars: "Chiraiyaa" premieres on March 20 on JioHotstar.
