Mumbai, July 5 (NationPress) Actress Sanvikaa, who plays the character of Rinki in the widely acclaimed streaming series ‘Panchayat’, believes that despite the show's evolution over the seasons, it continues to preserve its innocence, which remains a fundamental aspect of the narrative.
Five years ago, when the inaugural season of ‘Panchayat’ premiered, it resonated with viewers through its authentic storytelling and the naivety of its characters.
As the plot has unfolded, various elements have been introduced, with politics becoming a significant theme in the last two seasons.
In a recent interview with IANS, when asked if the growing political themes could lead to a loss of innocence in the series, she responded, “I don’t believe so. Even though the main characters may be in competition, there is always a willingness to assist one another in times of need, even when they are on opposing sides.”
She further added, “In rural areas, even with animosity, when a crisis arises or someone is in need, people tend to put aside their differences to offer help.”
Sanvikaa emphasized, “Thus, I feel that innocence remains intact. It may be overshadowed by the current political climate, but at its core, that innocence is still present.”
Previously, the actress discussed her character's development over four seasons, noting that the creators intentionally chose to gradually reveal her character's complexities. In the first season, Rinki was introduced only in the finale, and over time, her role has expanded, making her more integral to the storyline.
Reflecting on this, she stated, “The creators aimed for a gradual progression of Rinki's character. They didn’t want to unveil everything at once, which is why her appearances have been carefully spaced out.”
“As time progresses, we are uncovering who Rinki is, her values, relationships with her family, and her romantic life, all of which is being revealed slowly,” she concluded.
The series ‘Panchayat’ is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.
