Mumbai, May 24 (NationPress) The renowned Bollywood actor and passionate advocate for animal rights, John Abraham, is set to unveil “Lakadbaggha: The Prologue”, a comic book adaptation inspired by the 2023 vigilante action film “Lakadbaggha”, featuring Anshuman Jha.
The launch event is scheduled to take place in Mumbai on May 26, with the presence of the creators and notable cast members of the franchise, including Ridhi Dogra. This graphic novel is published by Om Books International and First Ray Films, crafted by the talented actor-director Anshuman Jha and illustrated by the acclaimed American comic artist Brittain Peck.
Anshuman expressed, “As a child growing up in Allahabad, I was deeply influenced by comics like Chacha Choudhary, Nagraj, and Tintin. My love for animals and nature has always been profound, and I envisioned a hero who would advocate for the voiceless — not only on screen but also off the pages.”
He emphasized that “Lakadbaggha: The Prologue” marks the realization of that vision.
“My ambition is to expand this universe of an animal-loving vigilante dedicated to protecting our planet. If anyone harms animals or nature, Arjun Bakshi is coming for you — in comics, in cinema, and in spirit.”
Brittain Peck remarked, “I’m incredibly honored to collaborate with Anshuman to bring Arjun Bakshi to comic book readers based on a film I admire. Working with Anshuman, an inspiring creative force, has been a rewarding experience.”
He reminisced, “As a child, I loved visiting Acme Comics, a shop my parents allowed me to ride my bike to. I spent countless hours searching for characters and stories I could relate to.”
“Arjun Bakshi’s journey and dedication to supporting those in need is a story I wish I had encountered as a child, making me even more excited to present him as a comic hero for today’s youth,” Peck added.
Regarding the film, “Lakadbaggha” is directed by Victor Mukherjee and features Anshuman Jha, Riddhi Dogra, Paresh Pahuja, and Milind Soman. The narrative follows Arjun Bakshi, a martial arts trainer and animal enthusiast, who becomes a vigilante after his dog Shanku goes missing. In his quest, Arjun discovers an illegal wildlife trade in Kolkata, orchestrated by Aryan, the sibling of Crime Branch officer Akshara D'Souza.
“Lakadbaggha: The Prologue” is published by Om Books International.
