Bengaluru, Aug 8 (NationPress) Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called on party leaders and members to amplify a 'do or die' movement resembling Mahatma Gandhi's Quit India Movement, aimed at toppling the NDA administration at the national level.

Speaking to a significant crowd at Freedom Park in Bengaluru during a demonstration against alleged electoral fraud, Kharge stated, "Rahul Gandhi has made it clear how, in 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power through electoral deceit. He specifically highlighted irregularities in the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha seat, revealing that nearly 6.5 lakh names on the voters' list were meticulously scrutinized, showing the betrayal of the electorate in the previous Assembly election."

"Our aim is to safeguard democracy and voting rights. Prime Minister Modi is implicated in vote theft. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and PM Modi are conspiring to distort the electoral process and exert pressure on the Election Commission of India. This (NDA) government ascended to power through unethical practices and has no moral authority to govern," Kharge asserted.

"In spite of all this, Prime Minister Modi continues to assert that he is working for the populace's welfare. That is a blatant falsehood. We are unveiling these deceptions in every state. Similar occurrences transpired in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar. Voting rights were compromised, and rampant bogus voting facilitated PM Modi's rule over the nation," Kharge claimed.

Reflecting on his loss in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress President shared, "For the first time in my life, I faced defeat in an election. I had previously been elected 12 times. In that election, they introduced 20,000 fraudulent voters in each Assembly seat. Bogus voting occurred in five constituencies, resulting in my defeat. At the time, we were not fully aware of how these manipulations were executed."

"But now, the truth is out. Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party have unveiled this deceit. Party leaders must now concentrate on this matter. It is your duty to safeguard each vote and ensure electoral success. I also want to remind you: Prime Minister Modi has employed agencies like the CBI, ED, and CVC to intimidate Congress leaders and establish governments. In numerous states, where they lacked a majority, they dissolved parties and seized power," Kharge elaborated.

"This occurred in Maharashtra, and previously in Karnataka, Goa, and Manipur. In all these states, they (BJP) did not secure victories. They (BJP) enticed leaders from other parties with financial incentives and formed governments. Even now, they persist in this behavior -- and it's time we taught them a lesson," he added.

Kharge contended that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were not legitimately won by PM Modi.

"This (NDA) government is on borrowed time. We will expose the fraud and bring them to shame. Those lacking public support are desperately clinging to power. This is not merely about ousting Prime Minister Modi; it's about imparting a lesson to him. He (PM Modi) is harming the economy and disrupting the nation's peace," the Congress President stated.

He also claimed, "Now they (NDA) are making yet another mistake and damaging the country. We must scrutinize the vote theft. Workers and leaders must analyze the election results thoroughly and reveal the fraud."

Announcing a significant initiative, Kharge declared, "On Monday, all our MPs will march in large numbers to the Central Election Commission and present a memorandum. We will inform the Commission that it is complicit in this fraud and no longer deserves its current standing."

He added that the leaders of the INDIA bloc were encouraged to maintain unity by Rahul Gandhi.

"If we (INDIA bloc) do not come together, vote theft will persist. It is crucial to remove this (NDA) government from power."

"They are also disrupting the education system. On August 9, the Quit India Movement was initiated against British rule. Today, to preserve democracy, we must once again rise with the slogan 'Do or Die'. If our votes are pilfered, our very existence is at stake," Kharge cautioned.

"Rahul Gandhi is willing to take any risk. There are multiple cases against him. We must all rally behind him," he concluded.
