Los Angeles, April 15 (NationPress) Hollywood icon Johnny Depp has officially made his comeback to Tinseltown as he has commenced filming for his anticipated movie ‘Day Drinker’.
Lionsgate has unveiled a first-look image featuring the actor from the film following his much-publicized legal disputes with ex-wife Amber Heard, as reported by Variety.
This film, directed by Marc Webb of 500 Days of Summer and Snow White fame, marks the fourth collaboration between Depp and Penelope Cruz, following their work in Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Murder on the Orient Express.
According to Variety, Madelyn Cline also stars in this production. The cast includes Manu Rios, Aron Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle. Day Drinker narrates the tale of a private-yacht bartender (Cline) who meets a mysterious guest (Depp) aboard.
The duo soon finds themselves intertwined with a criminal figure (Cruz) in unexpected ways. Filming, which is set to take place in Spain, is produced by Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, known for their work on the John Wick series for Lionsgate; alongside Adam Kolbrenner, producer of The Tomorrow War, Free Guy, and Prisoners, and Zach Dean, who penned the original screenplay. Kolbrenner and Dean’s film The Gorge was recently released by Apple TV+/Skydance.
Day Drinker is being executive produced by 30WEST. Lionsgate will present Day Drinker in partnership with 30WEST. This project is a collaborative production between Thunder Road and IN.2. The executive producers also include Dan Friedkin, Micah Green, Daniel Steinman, Stephen Deuters, Jason Forman, Sam Sarkar, Webb, Eric Sherman, Sarah Hong, Scott LaStaiti, Christopher Woodrow, Connor DiGregorio, and Adrian Guerra.
