Mumbai, May 27 (NationPress) The creators of Kamal Haasan’s highly anticipated gangster film "Thug Life" have just released a new track titled, "O Maara".
With music composed by the Oscar-winning A R Rahman, the song features lyrics crafted by the HC Team and is performed by singer Nitesh Aher. The track, picturized on Silambarasan TR, encapsulates the bold tagline - "No rules. No mercy".
Recently, the film's producers held a dazzling audio launch event for "Thug Life" in Chennai, where Rahman recounted his journey in creating the film’s music.
Prior to "O Maara", the songs "Jinguchaa" and "Sugar Baby" had already gained immense popularity among fans.
Discussing the latest track, Nitesh shared, “When I first heard the scratch of 'O Maara', it felt like a moment to create history. The brilliance of A R Rahman, Kamal sir’s vision, Silambarasan TR’s dynamic performance, and the HC Team’s sharp lyrics demanded my best vocal effort. I felt the need to channel rage, soul, and swagger—every bit of fire I had. I recorded this track as if I were stepping into Maara’s defiant shoes. This was my most intense studio experience. I hope listeners embrace this song as their own.”
Produced by Haasan under his production company Raaj Kamal Films International, alongside Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, R. Mahendran, and Siva Ananth, "Thug Life" features a stellar ensemble cast with Haasan portraying Rangaraaya Sakthivel Naicker. He is joined by Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf in key roles, among others.
This film marks a significant reunion between Ratnam and Haasan after 35 years since their last collaboration on the 1987 classic "Nayakan".
"Thug Life" is set for a global theatrical release on June 5, 2025.
