Mumbai, Jan 27 (NationPress) Following the release of her film ‘Emergency’, actress Kangana Ranaut has swiftly moved on to her next cinematic venture.
On Monday, she shared a behind-the-scenes image on her Instagram Stories from the sets of her upcoming, yet unnamed film.
The snapshot features a clapperboard indicating the details of the shooting day. This project also stars R. Madhavan, marking a reunion for the two actors after nearly ten years; they were last seen together in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’.
Kangana captioned the image, “Nothing is more delightful than being on a film set”.
In the meantime, her previous film ‘Emergency’, which was her second venture as a director following ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, has struggled at the box office, earning only Rs 20 crore within 10 days of its release against a projected budget of Rs 60 crore.
In ‘Emergency’, she portrayed former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Kangana has stated that the film is not a political commentary, but rather focuses on Indira Gandhi's life.
She clarified, “This is not a political film. It's a story. It has nothing to do with politics. You may find it very bizarre right now. Eventually, it is not about any party. You will come out feeling that, you just saw the film, you won’t come out feeling who you will vote for. You were only enlightened about that episode”.
She continued, “If you see ‘Argo’ in Hollywood, you don't come out thinking who to vote for or who not to vote for. You simply come out being enlightened by one episode, only that chunk of history. That's it. I think if people see it like that, they won't be disappointed. If they think that they will be able to decide who to vote and who not to vote for, then this is not the film for them”.
‘Emergency’ is set against the backdrop of the 1970s Emergency declared by the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, promising to deliver a compelling examination of one of the most discussed periods in Indian democracy.
