Kartik Reflects on His Role as a ‘Twisted Lover’ in ‘Freddy’, Admits Transformation Was Challenging

Mumbai, Dec 3 (NationPress) As his film ‘Freddy’ celebrated its two-year anniversary since release, Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan reminisced about taking on the role of a ‘twisted’ character, emphasizing that the transformation process was no ‘small feat’.
Kartik shared a series of images from the psychological thriller on Instagram, where he revealed he had to gain nearly 14 kilos to portray the character authentically.
“Ek joke sunau - I Still Love You Two years of #Freddy, and the thrill of embodying this ‘twisted’ lover boy is still as exhilarating as ever! The transformation into Freddy was no small feat—gaining 14 kgs to reflect his sweet yet hauntingly intricate life was merely the start,” he expressed, reflecting on his experience with the film.
The actor remarked that the character is still yearning for further exploration, subtly hinting at a potential sequel.
“This character has taken me on a wild journey filled with emotions and chaos, and honestly, he’s still calling out for his story to unfold. The pursuit to delve deeper into Freddy’s universe is far from complete. Thank you for showering so much love on your Dr. Freddy. This adventure has been unforgettable, and who knows… the best may still be ahead!”
‘Freddy’ was released digitally in 2022. Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the film also features Alaya F. It narrates the tale of a socially awkward dentist who, after falling for a woman trapped in an abusive marriage, goes to great lengths to win her love. However, buried secrets lead him down a dark path.
Kartik recently appeared in the third chapter of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. The film features actors such as Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, and Rajpal Yadav, among others.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ hit theaters on November 1. The horror-comedy clashed at the box office with Rohit Shetty's cop drama, ‘Singham Again’.
‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ is the third film in the franchise. The original, released in 2007, starred Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, while ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ introduced Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in key roles.
Regarding ‘Singham Again’, the film has been given a twist influenced by the Ramayana. It also features Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor.
