Los Angeles, Dec 27 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Kate Winslet has opened up about her early experiences with intimacy. In her revelations, she shared that some of these moments involved same-sex interactions.

The actress, reflecting on her late teenage years, expressed her curiosity, which resonated deeply with her role in the 1994 film ‘Heavenly Creatures’. This film portrays the intense and obsessive bond between two teenage girls, according to reports from Female First UK.

During an appearance on the Team Deakins podcast, she admitted, “I’ll reveal something I’ve never disclosed before. My initial intimate experiences as a young teen were actually with girls. I had shared kisses with both girls and boys, but at that time, I was not particularly defined in either direction. However, I was undeniably curious, and I felt a profound connection with the intense relationship depicted in the film. I was irresistibly drawn into their world, which ultimately led to devastating consequences for both.”

She elaborated, “They committed murder because they believed that person was obstructing their relationship. While I couldn't fully grasp that aspect, I understood how easily a young mind could be influenced by another person during such vulnerable times.”

As reported by Female First UK, Kate, aged 17 during the filming, indicated that the experience transformed her. “I returned a different person because I had grown significantly through my experiences and learning in that beautiful country,” she explained.

The actress, who is a mother to Mia Honey Threapleton with ex-husband Jim Threapleton, Joe Alfie Mendes with second husband Sam Mendes, and Bear Blaze Winslet with Edward Abel Smith, also shared her discomfort with fame. She stated, “I would prefer to remain in the background, creating art with friends and enjoying life that way. The fame that accompanied my career has always felt at odds with me. It seems fame sought me out; I never pursued it in an ambitious manner.”
