“It wasn’t until I consulted with two different pelvic floor therapists that the possibility of endometriosis was introduced to me. I advocated for an MRI, which eventually led to a diagnosis of adenomyosis.
“Subsequently, I met with a specialist who guided me in deciding that laparoscopic surgery was the appropriate next step, even as another gynecologist suggested I probably didn’t have endometriosis and should simply take the pill,” she added.
The actress expressed her relief at having listened to her body’s signals.
