Los Angeles, Jan 4 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Miles Teller, renowned for his performance in ‘Whiplash’, has revealed that the inspiration for his character in ‘Eternity’ stems from his grandparents.

The 38-year-old star plays Larry, a man striving to win back his wife Joan (portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen) after she meets her first love Luke (played by Callum Turner) in the afterlife. Teller noted that his grandparents played a crucial role in shaping his depiction of Larry, as they lived with him prior to filming in 2024, according to reports from Female First UK.

Miles shared with People magazine, "It was incredibly moving to just observe them. Their love is profound. Often, when couples have been together for so long, one partner's passing is closely followed by the other’s. It's truly a heartbreaking phenomenon. It’s something uniquely special.”

He also mentioned that his grandfather, who sadly passed away in December 2024, had a significant impact on him.

He stated, "I hail from a lineage of remarkable men, and I take pride in representing that legacy.”

As noted by Female First UK, Teller previously expressed how the theme of "ordinary love" in Eternity drew him to the film.

He remarked, "I cherish the concept of ordinary love. Growing up, I witnessed numerous men devoted to their wives, striving to ensure their happiness was reciprocated. I found this film to be a beautiful exploration of the lives of everyday people, those you might casually encounter in a grocery store. Their commitment truly moved me when I read the script.”

Moreover, the actor has explained his approach to making a strong impression while collaborating with a director for the first time.

Miles told Collider, "On the initial day, particularly if I haven't collaborated with that director or those producers before, I feel a need to prove I can carry the entire film. I remind myself to focus on the authenticity of this one scene, rather than attempting to showcase my full range. Yet, during the first few days of any project, I can't shake the anxiety of whether I've adequately prepared.”

In addition, Miles has taken on the role of executive producer for both The Gorge and Eternity, enjoying his involvement in the creative process.

He stated, "I’m at a stage where I engage with projects early on, allowing me to contribute as a producer. Whether I end up filming all these projects is uncertain, but I find immense joy in the development phase. Some projects may not be studio-backed and require that early push. If I’m passionate about a project, I’m eager to assist in piecing it together and seeking financing.”
