Mumbai, Sep 6 (NationPress) The esteemed actress Mumtaz has long been a devoted follower of Lord Ganpati. Recently, she was seen arriving at T2 terminal of Mumbai airport, dressed in stylish casual attire.

As she made her way to the parking area, a beautiful idol of Lord Ganpati was presented to her. The actress posed with the idol, expressing her desire for blessings. She shared with the waiting paparazzi, “My love for Lord Ganpati is immense, and my faith in him is unwavering.”

As the ten-day celebration concludes, Lord Ganpati is set to depart until next year. The visarjan ceremonies will unfold across Mumbai on Saturday. Ganeshotsav stands as Maharashtra's most significant festival, steeped in historical importance, having played a crucial role during the Indian freedom struggle.

Born to Abdol Salim Askari, a dry fruit vendor, and Shadi Habib Agha from Mashhad, Iran, Mumtaz faced challenges early in life, with her parents divorcing shortly after her birth. Her elder sister, Mallika, was once married to wrestler and actor Randhawa, the younger sibling of Dara Singh.

Mumtaz tied the knot with businessman Mayur Madhvani in 1974. They are blessed with two daughters, one of whom, Natasha, married Fardeen Khan, son of the late Feroz Khan, in 2006. In May 2022, Mumtaz was hospitalized at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to a stomach infection. Previously, at 54, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and courageously underwent six chemotherapies and 35 radiation sessions before achieving remission. Notably, legendary actor Shammi Kapoor was infatuated with her and nearly proposed, but she opted to continue her acting career, as the Kapoors preferred women in their family to refrain from the film industry.
