Mumbai, Aug 8 (NationPress) Natashaa Fernandes has revealed her choice to maintain a certain distance from her co-stars while filming “Andaaz 2.”
The actress explained her reasons for keeping to herself on set. Discussing the complexities of her character, she stated, “There were numerous challenges that I was eager to tackle. As the negative lead, I chose to stay away from everyone and immerse myself in my emotional state, especially on days when I had significant scenes to perform.”
“I consider it a challenge because I was often misinterpreted. Many assumed I was simply a reserved individual who shunned social interactions. While on set, I focused on embodying Priyanka's life; authenticity to my role was paramount. To truly become her, I recognized the need to make sacrifices, such as refraining from jokes with co-stars or engaging in socializing. However, I believe every actor has their unique method and deserves their personal space.”
Natashaa shared that she underwent profound emotional preparation to bring her character to life. She elaborated, “Acting is a journey and a deeply personal experience. Although we participated in workshops before filming, those sessions helped me connect with my co-stars. Nevertheless, the emotional path I traversed to embody Priyanka was vital.”
“This character's emotional arc is quite fascinating, featuring various peaks and valleys. For scenes depicting negative emotions, I had to draw from deep personal pain, channeling feelings from my own unhealed experiences, making it emotionally taxing while portraying Priyanka.”
Regarding her character's background, she remarked, “Priyanka is a young woman burdened with family responsibilities from an early age. She sacrificed her own happiness to build a business that supports her loved ones. In her pursuit of success, she has little time for romance or friendships, leading to her isolation. Despite her grace under pressure, she is a powerful boss lady with a vulnerable side, which eventually leads to her being taken advantage of, resulting in resentment.”
In related news, “Andaaz 2,” directed by Suneel Darshan, also features newcomers Aayush Kumar and Aakaisha. The film is a sequel to the 2003 hit “Andaaz.” It premiered today, August 8.
