Mumbai, April 13 (NationPress) Actor Navneet Malik has shared his thoughts on the hurdles he encountered while embodying a young Sanjay Dutt for the soon-to-be-released film “The Bhootnii.”

Navneet provided details regarding the preparation, pressure, and passion that went into depicting the legendary star in his earlier years. In this upcoming horror action comedy, Malik portrays a young Sanjay Dutt during his college days, complete with retro attire, exuding a spectacular charisma, and engaging in a romantic subplot that serves as the emotional core of the film.

Reflecting on this experience, the actor mentioned to IANS, “It’s been a true honor to collaborate with the iconic Sanjay Dutt. In fact, in the movie, I’m playing none other than Sanjay Dutt himself. However, I won't disclose the full storyline or the intricate details of my character just yet. I would love for everyone to visit the theater to watch the film — and then, we can discuss it afterward.”

Navneet continued, “His persona is larger than life, and embodying him is quite a challenge. It may appear effortless off-screen, but once you step in front of the camera as Sanjay Dutt, you understand that it requires immense courage. This role was demanding, but I had the guidance and backing of my director and the entire team. They helped me grasp the subtleties of his character — from his gait to his facial expressions. We labored diligently on every detail to get as close as possible to capturing his essence.”

Regarding his collaboration with Mouni Roy in ‘The Bhootnii,’ he remarked, “Mouni is truly an exceptional professional. She made me feel very at ease on set. I won’t reveal the specifics of our scenes together, but as a co-star, an actor, and a person — she’s simply delightful. I admire how she fosters such a positive and energetic atmosphere both on and off the screen.”

On a related note, the upcoming horror-comedy, directed by Sidhaant Sachdev, also features Palak Tiwari, Sunny Singh, Beyounick, and Aasif Khan in significant roles.

“The Bhootnii” is scheduled to premiere on April 18.
