Chennai, Jan 18 (NationPress) The Indo-Japanese animated film ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’, scheduled for release on January 24 this year, has garnered interest from both cinema enthusiasts and critics alike, including India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman!

In a recent post on her X timeline, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman shared the film's trailer, stating, “A beautiful animated Ramayana. I fondly recall watching this Japanese cultural gem some time ago. It was showcased at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) back in 1993. Now, it is set to grace the big screen once more.”

This landmark anime aims to emphasize crucial themes such as the triumph of good over evil, the balance between nature and living beings, and the strength of friendship and trust. It draws inspiration from sage Valmiki's Ramayana.

‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ has sparked immense excitement among viewers, who are eager to witness this timeless narrative on the big screen in Ultra HD 4K.

India’s Finance Minister referred to the film as a “Japanese cultural gem” and reminisced about its screening at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 1993. Now, the film is poised to debut in cinemas in its remastered 4K format, offering audiences an opportunity to enjoy this iconic masterpiece.

‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ will be distributed theatrically across India by Geek Pictures India in collaboration with AA Films and Excel Entertainment.

The original English version was created by Yugo Sako and Vijay Nigam, directed by Koichi Sasaki and Ram Mohan, and produced by Atsushi Matsuo, Yugo Sako, and Kenji Yoshii. The new Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu adaptations have been produced by Arjun Aggarwal, Cibi Karthic, and Tamotsu Kosano.
