Mumbai, Aug 11 (NationPress) Director-producer Om Raut, known for his upcoming OTT release ‘Inspector Zende’, is a passionate food lover.
During a recent conversation with IANS, he revealed a selection of his favorite culinary delights from various regions of Maharashtra. Being the son of esteemed journalist Bharat Kumar and a proud Maharashtrian, Om shared, “I have a deep appreciation for food. It’s quite a challenge to choose my favorites. For instance, when I'm in Vidarbha, I crave the Saoji style curries. In Pune, the Misal is a must-try for me. When I visit Konkan, I indulge in coastal delicacies. In Khandesh, the local cuisine is irresistible. As for Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, and the Marathwada and Western Maharashtra regions, I relish the Dhangar style food.”
He emphasized, “Every region in Maharashtra, and indeed across our nation or globally, has unique local dishes that are worth trying. I firmly believe in savoring local flavors because they carry a distinct taste. I could discuss food endlessly, but anything that's locally sourced from a specific area is something I long to enjoy.”
Previously, Om reflected on the impact of Indian freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak on his upbringing. He mentioned, “We have a stunning portrait of Lokmanya Tilak in the center of our living room, symbolizing his significance in our family and upbringing.”
Lokmanya Tilak was not merely a political leader but also a pivotal journalist who co-founded and edited the Marathi newspaper Kesari, which aimed to inspire the Indian populace and express nationalist sentiments.
