Mumbai, Sep 26 (NationPress) Producer-director Om Raut, whose latest film ‘Inspector Zende’ is garnering positive reviews, has disclosed a significant lesson he learned from Bollywood icon Ajay Devgn.
During the promotional activities for ‘Inspector Zende’, Raut shared insights with IANS, emphasizing the immense responsibility that comes with being a producer. He noted how Ajay Devgn taught him the importance of granting creative freedom to directors, allowing their vision to resonate throughout the narrative.
He remarked, “A director is essentially the captain of the ship. Throughout my journey, I've had the privilege of collaborating with skilled producers, starting from my debut film ‘Lokmanya’ to my subsequent projects, all of whom supported my creative aspirations.”
Raut expressed his desire to empower filmmakers, stating that he aims to provide directors with all the resources they need to excel.
He continued, “This was my first venture into Hindi cinema, and Ajay Devgn was incredibly supportive. I strive to emulate his approach by facilitating and empowering directors, enabling them to pursue their creative instincts to the fullest.”
Raut also admitted to facing the temptation to direct National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee during the production of ‘Inspector Zende’, recalling how witnessing Bajpayee's performance made him want to take the director's seat for a moment, but he prioritized the film's greater success.
‘Inspector Zende’ is now available for streaming on Netflix.
