Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 24 (NationPress) Renowned singer-composer Palash Sen has expressed his views on the shifting landscape of devotional music, asserting that while trends such as “bhajan clubbing” might gain popularity, a genuine connection with the Almighty transcends mere labels and categories.
In a recent Instagram post, Palash elaborated on his conviction that music serves as a spiritual conduit. He shared that performing for the divine instills a sense of tranquility, clarity, and inner fortitude.
Regarding the contemporary trend of “bhajan clubbing”, Palash admitted he doesn’t fully resonate with the idea but appreciates its positive influence.
“It’s always uplifting to sing songs for the Almighty… it brings you peace, perspective, and strength. Yes, there’s a trend today known as ‘bhajan clubbing.’ I may not grasp its essence, but if it aids people, that’s fantastic,” he stated.
He described a particular song as “bhajan rock”, illustrating his unique interpretation of devotional music. He emphasized that while music can be classified in numerous ways, the essence of its message remains paramount.
“This song by Akshay, Vikram, and Maggi is what I consider bhajan rock. Music can be categorized infinitely, but if it ultimately praises God, that’s all that matters. We are human and we have faith in the Almighty. I believe He has faith in us too. The voice at the end belongs to the ace director, @ganeshacharyaa. Jai Shiv Shambhu… Jai Mahakal,” he concluded.
Palash's journey in music began during his college years when he founded his band Euphoria. He started composing songs in English, with his first notable piece being 'Heaven on the Seventh Floor,' an homage to his college hostel room.
Euphoria's debut track, 'Dhoom Pichuck Dhoom', became a massive commercial success and was critically acclaimed globally.
Over the years, Euphoria has established itself as a prominent Indian band, releasing five successful studio albums, one compilation, and seventeen music videos. Palash made his Bollywood entrance with Filhaal..., directed by Meghna Gulzar, which featured Tabu and Sushmita Sen. He also composed an eight-and-a-half-minute track for the film.
