Mumbai, Aug 18 (NationPress) Content creator and actress Prajakta Koli, who plays the role of a paranormal investigator in the newly released psychological-horror streaming series ‘Andhera’, admits that she is not very familiar with the horror genre.
In a recent interview with IANS, the actress revealed that her journey into this role was filled with challenges, but she quickly found her footing thanks to the guidance of the show's creator and director.
Koli stated, “I'm quite new to this, especially in this genre. I'm not a dedicated viewer of horror or paranormal thrillers. Therefore, I relied heavily on the source material. I remember having extensive discussions with Gaurav (the show's creator) and Raghav sir (the director), asking questions before and during scenes. The environment on set was also very open, making communication easy.”
‘Andhera’, set in Mumbai, follows Inspector Kalpana Kadam and Jay, a medical student, as they get involved in a missing-person investigation that reveals a dark presence lurking beneath the city. The series asks the intriguing question of “What if darkness comes to life?”. It also features Surveen Chawla and Priya Bapat.
She further added, “If there's a line in a scene, I consider the motivation behind it. What has my character experienced before that moment? Thanks to our creators and writers, who had a firm grasp on the storyline and character arcs, the process became quite straightforward for us. Although I haven't watched many paranormal investigator shows, I did see ‘The Conjuring’.”
