Priyanka Mohan Reveals Food Challenges During 'Made in Korea' Shoot
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chennai, March 12 (NationPress) Actress Priyanka Arul Mohan, who has garnered acclaim for her role in director Ra. Karthik's film 'Made in Korea', has shared that food was one of the two primary difficulties she encountered during filming in Korea.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, the actress, who spent over 40 days in Korea for the project, expressed, "Food was really a challenge for me because most dishes contained red meat." When probed about her dietary preferences, she shared, "I mainly follow a vegetarian diet, but I now consume a small amount of chicken."
The second hurdle, Priyanka noted, was the unpredictable weather. She described it as follows: "You could experience bright sunshine in the morning, followed by rain by the afternoon, and even snowfall by night. So, filming in such fluctuating weather was another significant challenge."
Despite these hurdles, Priyanka expressed her enjoyment of working on the film and collaborating with the Korean actors, to the point where she experienced withdrawal symptoms after completing the project.
She stated, "This was my first international collaboration, and the Korean artists are incredibly humble. They rehearse thoroughly before the actual take. We usually don't conduct reading sessions. The Korean actor portraying the grandmother in the film was exceptionally enthusiastic. I formed such strong bonds with everyone that I felt a sense of loss once filming ended and I returned home."
"The narrative centers on a girl from a small village in Tamil Nadu who has never ventured beyond her familiar surroundings. Portraying this character, Shenba, allowed me to experience Korea through her journey. This was made possible thanks to Karthik sir's guidance and the supportive atmosphere provided by the entire crew. One word I learned and brought back home is ‘Kamsahamnida’, which translates to ‘Thank you’. Every day after the shoot, the crew would bow and say that phrase," she reminisced.
For those unfamiliar, producer Sreenidhi Sagar of Rise East Entertainment and director Ra. Karthik, known for the delightful film 'Nitham Oru Vaanam', have teamed up once more for 'Made in Korea'. The film, featuring Priyanka Arul Mohan in the lead role, is set to premiere directly on the OTT platform Netflix on March 12.
