Chennai, Jan 11 (NationPress) Actor Vinay Rai, who has a significant role in director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s forthcoming romantic drama Kadhalikka Neramillai, humorously shared how the film's cameraman, Gavemic Ary, 'tormented' him throughout the shooting process.
At a pre-release event for the film, Vinay, chuckling, remarked, 'Gavemic really put me through a lot in this film. I have this tradition of touching the camera and bowing to it as a sign of respect before each shoot. However, during this filming, whenever I needed to shoot a scene, I would search for the camera, only to find it positioned high above or at a distance.'
'To reach it, I would need to jump. One day, while I was trying to touch the camera that was set high, I was puzzled about how to approach it and then I noticed Gavemic standing behind me with a mischievous smile,' the actor recounted, highlighting how the cinematographer intentionally made it challenging for him to access the camera.
Despite the playful teasing, Vinay praised Gavemic's cinematography, stating, 'On a serious note, Gavemic has captured the visuals for this film beautifully.'
Vinay Rai also mentioned that this was his first experience working with a female director. 'I typically rely heavily on the director, and this is my first project under a woman director. She has done an incredible job,' he told the audience, turning towards Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi to commend her, saying, 'There was such great energy on set, and it was because of you.'
Discussing the film, Vinay said, 'Many people categorize this film as a rom-com. But I want to give you a hint. Krithika has woven several socially relevant themes into this story. Whether it’s Ravi’s character, Nithya’s character, my character, or Yogi Babu’s character, we each symbolize a specific social issue. Krithika has intricately and beautifully incorporated these social themes. Much like the late comedian Vivek, who would use humor to shed light on social matters, Krithika has also used this film to confront many contemporary social issues.'
Kadhalikka Neramillai, directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, stars Nithya Menen and Jayam Ravi in leading roles. This relationship drama aims to address significant social issues and features a cast that includes Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu, TJ Banu, John Kokken, Lal, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Singer Mano, Vinothini, and Rohaan Singh among others.
The film's music is composed by A R Rahman, with cinematography led by Gavemic Ary. Editing is handled by Lawrence Kishore, and choreography is by Shobi Paulraj, Sandy, and Leelavathi. The movie is produced by Red Giant Movies.
