Chennai, July 31 (NationPress) Oscar-winning composer and one of India's most celebrated music directors, A R Rahman, visited the renowned singer K J Yesudas at his residence in Dallas. During this visit, he expressed his admiration for Yesudas's extensive research and his profound passion for Carnatic music.
Rahman shared a photo of their meeting on his Instagram account, stating, "Had an incredible time with my childhood idol at his home in #dallas #yesudas … truly amazed by his research work and his dedication to Indian classical (Carnatic) music!"
Accompanying Rahman were several fellow singers. For those who may not know, he is currently touring North America as part of The Wonderment Tour, touted to be his largest tour in the region to date, featuring performances in over 15 cities across the United States. The tour kicked off in Vancouver on July 18, with the final show set for Boston on August 18.

K J Yesudas is celebrated for his remarkable achievement of recording over 50,000 songs in multiple Indian languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Odia, Bengali, and Tulu. Often referred to as Gaanagandharvan, he has won the National Award for Best Male Playback Singer eight times and holds the world record for recording 16 new songs in four different languages within a single day.
