Hyderabad, Nov 16 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker S S Rajamouli has shared insights about a particular scene he shot for 'Varanasi', describing it as one of the most unforgettable moments in his cinematic journey.
During the title launch event for 'Varanasi', starring Mahesh Babu, the director experienced some tension when the teaser failed to play during the first two attempts. However, relief washed over him when the breathtaking teaser finally aired on the third try, stirring his emotions.
After the successful title reveal, S S Rajamouli expressed, "It finally happened. There are moments that strike a chord. While I don't possess a strong belief in God, my father often reassured me that 'He' would always be by my side to ensure everything turns out fine. In that moment, I found myself questioning, 'Is this how things are meant to work?' I also took issue with my wife, who has an affinity for Lord Hanuman, treating him as a companion.
The director elaborated on a scene in the film, which he affirmed would be one of his most cherished sequences.
"Since childhood, I've expressed my admiration for Ramayana and Mahabharata. Creating Mahabharata has always been my dream project. As I began working on this film, I never anticipated that I would be shooting a pivotal scene inspired by the Ramayana. However, as I penned each scene, it felt as though I was floating. The first day I witnessed Mahesh Babu dressed as Rama during a photoshoot, I was filled with goosebumps," Rajamouli recounted.
"We had an incredible time filming this segment. We dedicated 60 days to it, completing it just recently. Each day presented its unique challenges, as every sub-episode within this grand segment felt like its own mini-film. We navigated through these challenges and successfully wrapped up that sequence, which I believe will remain one of my most memorable works," the director concluded.
