Hyderabad, Nov 16 (NationPress) Renowned filmmaker S S Rajamouli has elaborated on the extensive measures his team undertook to prevent leaks of their film's content. He conveyed his disappointment over a random drone operated by ill-intentioned individuals, which, despite their diligent efforts, succeeded in leaking a still from his highly anticipated project, 'Varanasi'.

During the title announcement event for the film, starring Mahesh Babu in the lead role, the production team aimed to showcase the title teaser on a large screen they had set up. Initially, they faced technical difficulties. However, they managed to rectify the issues and delighted fans with an impressive title teaser.

While waiting for the glitches to be resolved, Rajamouli explained the underlying cause of the problem.

He mentioned that the team had constructed a giant screen to provide the audience with a sense of the film's grandeur. Rajamouli stated, "We were taking all precautions. We planned to test our video last night. To prevent any leaks of the teaser, we employed large cranes to cover the area with black fabric and worked late into the night. Around 2 AM, we began testing our videos without showcasing the teaser. We were unaware of the presence of these individuals. I can't say if it was one or two, but they started using a drone to capture footage of what we intended to present. They shared it online. That represented a whole year of effort from numerous individuals—thousands of hours of work and substantial financial investment. All of that was compromised by a single drone flying aimlessly. We were at a loss. We refrained from testing our video out of fear of leaks. We aimed to present it at full scale and resolution, accepting the associated risks."

The eagerly awaited production officially revealed the film's title as 'Varanasi' and disclosed that Mahesh Babu portrays a character named Rudhra in the movie.

The director expressed pride in introducing a new technology to Indian cinema, namely Premium Large Scale Format Filmed For IMAX.
