Mumbai, April 9 (NationPress) Actor Randeep Hooda is thrilled to revisit the action genre after a five-year hiatus since the release of the Chris Hemsworth blockbuster “Extraction”. He expressed his long-standing affection for action films, stating, "There is something raw, visceral, and thrilling about it."
“Extraction”, directed by Sam Hargrave and produced by the Russo Brothers, made its debut on Netflix in 2020. Now, with Jaat, Hooda is ready to embrace the role of an action hero, stepping into the shoes of Ranatunga.
Reflecting on his return to action, Randeep Hooda shared, "I have always loved action as a genre. There is something raw, visceral, and thrilling about it. After portraying intense roles in biopics and taking on law enforcement characters, unleashing my dark side as the formidable Ranatunga in Jaat has been exhilarating."
The actor mentioned that he had missed action films, and “Jaat” provided the perfect opportunity to dive back into that realm.
Hooda stated: "The choreography, the high-octane sequences, and the sheer physicality of the role—it has been a challenging yet fulfilling experience. Playing a character who is as ruthless as he is charismatic is something I’m really looking forward to showcasing."
"Extraction was a groundbreaking experience for me, being an Indian actor stepping into a full-blown action role in the west was thrilling."
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, “Jaat” also features Vineet Kumar Singh, Saiyami Kher, and Regina Cassandra. Each actor contributes unique intensity and depth to their roles, ensuring a captivating viewing experience.
The film boasts a soundtrack composed by Thaman S, with Rishi Punjabi serving as the Director of Photography. Editing is handled by Navin Nooli, and Avinash Kolla's production design will immerse audiences in the film’s gripping world.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, “Jaat” is set to be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on April 10.
