Rosshan Andrrews Unveils the Inspiration Behind Amitabh Bachchan’s Graffiti in the First Look of Deva

Mumbai, Jan 5 (NationPress) Director Rosshan Andrrews has provided a fascinating glimpse into the artistic inspiration for the first look of his eagerly awaited film “Deva.”

Andrrews recently disclosed the motivation behind the eye-catching graffiti of Amitabh Bachchan, which plays a significant role in the film's promotional imagery. The director articulated how this iconic depiction acts as a tribute to Bachchan's enduring impact on Indian cinema, embodying both admiration and the core of the film's storyline.

Andrews remarked, “When I first arrived in Bombay, I explored the city extensively—by train, bus, auto-rickshaw, and taxi. In South Bombay, I observed numerous graffiti portraying legendary figures like Lata Mangeshkar, Rajesh Khanna, and Dilip Kumar Sahab. That sparked the idea in my mind: why not feature graffiti for Deva as well? Being a devoted fan of Amitabh Bachchan, I chose to incorporate a graffiti of him into the film. This graffiti and his presence are crucial to Deva. Once you view the film, you’ll grasp the significance of this element and its purpose.”

Recently, the production team unveiled the first look of Shahid Kapoor, showcasing him in a rugged persona. The poster captures the actor with a cigarette in hand, showcasing a fierce and intense expression. In the background, an iconic image of Amitabh Bachchan from the 1990s adds a nostalgic flair.

Shahid shared the poster on Instagram with the caption, “Lock n’ Load #DEVA. See you in cinemas on 31st January 2025!”

Produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, this upcoming action thriller also features Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati in pivotal roles.

Previously, the ‘Jab We Met’ actor discussed the film on the green carpet at IIFA this year. He informed the media, “It’s an action film, so there’s plenty of action. It also includes thrilling elements—hopefully, you’ll be guessing the perpetrator until the very end. I’m portraying an extremely aggressive character. It’s a vibrant film; it should leap out at you and convey its energy, especially if we edit the right teaser and trailer. It releases on February 14 next year, and I’m eager to hear the audience’s reactions.”

“Deva” is being recognized as the first significant film of the year, set to premiere in theaters on January 31, 2025.
