Mumbai, Jan 5 (NationPress) Actor Shahid Kapoor has labeled his upcoming film, ‘Deva’, as the most demanding project of his career.
The actor explained that this film challenges him in ways he has never encountered before. Shahid also mentioned that the film goes deep into the duality of a single character.
Discussing his role, Shahid stated, “The chaos of Mumbai’s Deva mirrors the chaos of Mumbai itself. The character’s name is Dev, but there’s also an ‘A’ in it, which transforms him into Deva. Each of us has two aspects within ourselves—a Deva and an Asur. This film investigates the duality of one character. Mumbai is quite comparable—it possesses beauty, yet it has an edge. That contrast is what provides Mumbai with its unique allure.”
He further commented, “This film is aimed at the people. We’ve created it with the audience in mind, centering around their lives and experiences. It’s a narrative that will resonate with everyone.”
“For years, people have urged me to create a mass-oriented film, one that connects with a broader audience. This represents the next step in my journey—a character designed for the people. This has been one of the most demanding films for me as an actor, incredibly challenging on numerous levels. But I don’t wish to disclose too much. Tune in on January 31, and you’ll discover that there’s a Deva within all of us. This is a heartfelt, beautiful film, and I can assure that viewers will truly enjoy it,” he added.
The eagerly awaited teaser of Deva, produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, was revealed on Sunday. The teaser, which lacks dialogue, showcased Shahid’s signature flair while emphasizing his remarkable abilities in action and dance sequences.
Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews, ‘Deva’ is scheduled for release on January 31.
