Mumbai, July 8 (NationPress) Saiyami Kher has successfully completed her second Ironman 70.3 Triathlon, making her the only Indian actress to participate in the race twice within a single year.
She accomplished this feat on July 6, 2025, in Jönköping, Sweden. The Ironman 70.3 is renowned as one of the most demanding endurance tests globally, challenging athletes with 1.9 km of open water swimming, 90 km of cycling, and a 21.1 km half marathon run, all within one day.
“People often question my reasons for enduring such strenuous activities. The reality is, it's not about demonstrating anything to others. I do not rely on external validation. For me, engaging in endurance sports is a profoundly personal journey — a competition against my own insecurities,” she shared.
“This year, my sole objective was to surpass my performance from last year. And I achieved just that,” Saiyami expressed in a heartfelt post post-race.
She further noted, “As a woman, participating in such physically demanding events while on your period is especially challenging, but it serves as a reminder that it’s always mind over matter. There’s a unique, quiet pride in accomplishing something that once seemed unachievable. It brings immense joy.”
According to a statement, Saiyami had previously completed her first Ironman 70.3 in September 2024, marking her debut in the international endurance racing arena. Her second race in Sweden was the European championship and presented additional hurdles including frigid waters, relentless hills, and strong headwinds. Saiyami finished this time 32 minutes quicker than her last race.
On the professional front, the actress is featured in 'Special Ops 2', alongside Kay Kay Menon, Vinay Pathak, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Karan Tacker, and Arif Zakaria, among others. The series is set to begin streaming on July 11.
Originally launched in 2020, Special Ops is an action-packed espionage thriller directed by Neeraj Pandey. It stars Kay Kay Menon as Himmat Singh, a member of the Research and Analysis Wing, who assembles a team of five agents to track down a mastermind behind terror attacks in India.
